Which motor control systems are on the highway?


The above figure shows the future trends of the motor control industry, with the horizontal axis representing the industry growth rate in 2017 and the vertical axis representing the CAGR for the next three years.

“From the figure, we can see that industrial robot, lithium battery equipment, intelligent logistics, CNC machine tool and some other industries will maintain rapid growth, which provide huge opportunities for motor control,” said Martin Yu, senior business development manager of Motor Control, Future Electronics.

“These industries have also put forward higher requirements for motor control. The robot industry, for example, both industrial and cooperative robots require the servo system to provide bigger torque and faster response, and also smaller size. While machine tools and manufacturing equipments require servos for more accurate position control and higher power density.”

In 2017, the Chinese robots market continued to be hot, reaching a market of 120 billion and an increase rate of 25.4%, of which 134,000 are industrial robots and 40% are domestic robots.

Intelligent Logistics – AGV
In 2017, China's AGVs maintained rapid growth, reaching a market of 2.85 billion and an increase rate of 50% over 2016.
In 2018, the growth rate is expected to reach 40%, which will exceed 4 billion. The main growths come from intelligent logistics, factory automation, and unmanned forklifts, etc.

In 2017, the domestic servo market reached 16 billion, which is 17% higher than last year. In 2018, it is expected to grow by 15%, which will exceed 18 billion. The high-speed growth fields include: 3C electronics manufacturing, new energy vehicles, robots, testing machinery, packaging industry, etc.

With the improvement of technologies, domestic servos will break through the technological monopoly of foreign brands in more fields, and will have more space for growth.
